At my very core, I’m a creator. There is nothing that makes me happier than simply making things: from writing a story or painting a greeting card, to constructing a floral arrangement or cooking a new recipe.
Being a copywriter allows me to share a portion of my passions with my clients and their customers, but it’s my personal, food, and art blogs, as well as my works of fiction, that truly fuel my creative spirit.
Another thing about me: I don’t take life too seriously.
To illustrate, I’ve created a Q&A featuring info that would probably never come up during a call or project, but should give you a better idea of who I am. If you still have questions, you can always reach out to me at email@example.com.
Q: What’s your idea of a good Friday night?
A: Cooking dinner in, then working on an art project while watching reruns of The X-Files.
Q: What’s your favorite dish to cook?
A: Anything vegan, Mediterranean, or Asian-inspired. Probably this recipe, actually. But I also make this one a lot. And vegan chocolates. Oh, but also this dish. And maybe this one. THIS IS A HARD QUESTION, OK!?
Q: What’s something I may not know about you?
A: I’m a clown and love to make people laugh. Growing up, I spent more time joking around than studying, but I did, however, win “funniest” in middle and high school (clearly I had my priorities straight).
Q: How many pets have you had?
A: What? My neighbor’s 7-year-old son asked me this the other day, so clearly people are interested. I’ve had countless fish, 3 cats, 3 dogs, 2 gerbils (+ their babies…zoinks!), 2 bunnies, 1 chameleon, 2 parakeets, 1 cockatoo, 2 baby turtles, and 1 albino frog. I am only responsible for some of their deaths.
Q: What’s your favorite thing to order at a diner?
A: Easy. Tuna club sandwich with pickle and chips. And tomato soup, IF they have it.
Q: What’s your favorite song?
A: This changes a lot, but the one song I’ve always really liked is Let the Bodies Hit the Floor…JK! It’s actually Amber by 311. It’s just so chill. When I put it on, I instantly feel like I’m on a beach.
Q: If you weren’t a writer/copywriter/creator, what would you be?
A: Probably a yoga instructor. I’d love to get certified and open my own studio/shop someday. I probably would have done it already if real estate wasn’t so damn expensive in New York. I have the name picked out and everything!
Q: Which projects are you working on right now?
A: Lots of things! For starters, I’m working on transforming my free branding course into a paid “branding bootcamp” email course. I’m also working on a 31-day detox plan for my food blog audience, which I hope to launch in the next month. In terms of stories, I’m working on storyboarding 2 children’s books and writing a sci-fi-style story about a futuristic world where the resources on every planet in every galaxy have been depleted (except one) and a war has broken out over the last remaining planet.
Q: What’s your favorite children’s book?
A: For as long as I can remember, I’ve been obsessed with children’s books. I love the colors, the stories, the characters, the creativity…they are just so fun and imaginative. It’s incredibly hard to choose a favorite, but this is the one I have on my bookshelf.
Q: Who’s your favorite author?
A: Again, a tough one! I’m going to have to go with Kurt Vonnegut. I’ve read many of his books and love them all. They’re so weird and crazy…just like me! ?
Q: What’s your guilty pleasure?
A: Aside from watching The X-Files? Probably scrolling through Instagram. I’m a meme queen, so I’m always on a quest for good ones. I also love discovering new brands that no one knows about. I hate buying shit everyone else has, so I’m always on the hunt for unique prints, jewelry, bags, shoes, accessories, etc.
Q: Where are you in your family order?
A: I’m 1 of 6 kids (I know) and I’m almost the baby. I have 4 brothers and 1 sister, and she’s my best friend (obviously!).
Q: What book are you reading right meow?
A: I have such a hard time finishing books–I’m reading at least 4-5 right now and have so many on deck because I just keep buying more! Currently, I’m furthest along on The Feminine Mystique by Betty Friedan and Galapagos by Kurt Vonnegut, and my goal is to finish both by the end of next month.
Q: What’s your favorite place to visit?
A: While I love traveling internationally, my two favorite places are right here in the good ol’ US of A! The first is Ogunquit, Maine, and the second is Big Sur in California. They’re both just so damn beautiful and peaceful.
Q: What’s your favorite holiday?
A: Halloween, by far. I love scary movies, dressing up, decorating, haunted houses, pumpkin carving, cooking “spooky foods,” listening to The Monster Mash…really all of it! I usually have my costume picked out by January, but that’s normal, right?
Q: What’s the last thing you want me to know?
A: shama-llama-ding-dong! Or, you know, just that I hope we get to work together! ? If you have more questions or want to chat, you can email me here: firstname.lastname@example.org.
